The San Diego Padres lineup will face Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani as a pitcher in their upcoming weekend series.

Ohtani was scheduled to start Wednesday night against the A’s, but the Dodgers decided to give him extra rest. He will still make two more pitching starts before the All-Star break.

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing said he expects some good to come out of his public disagreement with Shohei Ohtani.

Considering the Padres are in second place in the National League West, that means Ohtani will match up against Los Angeles' division rivals and closest pursuers. Still, the Dodgers have a commanding 11-game lead in the NL West race and probably don't need to match their rotation up based on any real threats within the division.
