The Trump administration has changed federal guidance on alcohol consumption as part of its updated U.S. dietary guidelines.
The new nutrition guidance notably removes the previous recommendation to limit alcohol consumption to 1 drink or fewer daily for women and 2 drinks or fewer per men.
Now the government’s recommendation is to “limit” drinking, without specifying safe amounts for men and women. The guidelines no longer warn of risks like cancer.
